You can now look at the images of my botanical trip in China organized by John and Hilary Birks from June 07th to July 04th in the North Western Yunnan Province.

John and Hilary are both professors of botanic and searchers at the University of Bergen (Norway) where they teach as well as at the University of Oxford (UK).

Our group of 16 members had been constituted by John and 5 nationalities were represented: English, Irish, Swiss, French and Norwegian.

Today more than 630 species have duly been identified i.e. 35% of the encountered species.

We stayed about one week in each of the 4 areas described below and among the 2000 images I took during this trip, I have selected the best ones.

Lijiang: Bai Shui, Gang Ho Ba (3500m), Jade Dragon

Shangri La (Zhongdian): Napa Hai, Tianchi Lake (3800m)

Da Xue Shan: Pass at 4200m, the West area (4600m), the East side until 4800m and a half day incursion into Sechuan (3800m).

Bai Ma Shan: Pass at 4300m, the West area up to 4800m, the East side up to 5000m and the Red Mountain area at 4800m.

Good trip to everyone!
